ANNUAL REPORT TO THE FRIENDS OF HOLY INNOCENTS CHURCH, LAMARSH FOR THE YEAR 2006
Registered Charity No 1088711

I am afraid that these accounts are two months later than usual. This is because we wanted to take all the restoration costs into 2006 and we had to wait for one final account.

It is pleasing to report that our bell was restored and returned to its new position in the tower during December 2006. The final cost of all the work including professional fees was £12,373.59

We raised £14,515 and will be returning monies to those Charities who were promised refunds in the event that the costs came in at less than budget. A total of £5,886 (which has not been included in these accounts) is due to be received on the basis of promises already made, following the completion of the Bell Restoration Project.

I am grateful to the other Trustees for their assistance in raising the funds.

There is a long article on the bell restoration in the Church and there is also one on the website. Friends and Charities who receive these accounts, through the post, will receive a copy of the article.

The church website continues to be very popular with over 11,000 visitors, last year, who viewed over 18,000 pages.

The Trustees met once to approve and consider items of expenditure and a second time to review the figures prior to the preparation of these accounts. They also met, to approve these accounts.

The Friends are hoping to have the exterior of the Church plasterwork lime washed during 2007. (Subject to English Heritage approval and obtaining a Faculty) The Church Architect supports this action. At present the patching of the plasterwork, on the tower, makes it look very unattractive. The Friends are also arranging to have some of the damaged graves restored.

As many of you will know the Andersons moved from Clees Hall in February and David is no longer a Churchwarden however he has agreed to remain a Trustee, subject to election, at the AGM. This means that Robert Erith will become the Churchwarden Trustee. Patrick Cooper resigns but seeks re-election.

Once again I am grateful to John Sparkes for certifying these accounts.
